Roses is a charming coastal town on the Costa Brava, known for its beautiful sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere. With a lively seafront promenade, delicious Catalan cuisine, and stunning natural surroundings, it’s a favorite spot for families, couples, and anyone seeking sun and adventure.

Brief History

This town has roots going back to Ancient Greece, when settlers founded a colony here in the 4th century BC. Over time, Romans, Visigoths, and Moors also left their mark, giving the area a fascinating mix of history and culture. Today, traces of this past can be seen in its ruins and museums.

Best Time to Visit

Summer, from June to September, offers perfect weather for swimming and water sports, with lively festivals filling the town. Spring and autumn are quieter, still warm, and ideal for hiking or exploring the nearby Cap de Creus Natural Park without the crowds.
